Teaching & Research
The Marine Field Station serves as the hub for the integration of the University’s coastal science teaching and research programs. Courses from the undergraduate Marine Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, and Chemistry programs, in addition to the graduate-level Coastal Zone Management program, utilize the facilities, resources and professional staff support at the Port Republic site. Faculty incorporate their regional research programs into the teaching curriculum and many of the high impact and hands-on activities contribute to long-term data sets.
